Poinsettia Fundraiser – Due 11/8/23

We are kicking off our holiday season with our popular Poinsettia Fundraiser! All of these poinsettias come from a local nursery and are beautiful and full plants!

This year we have 2 different sizes to choose from. Both sizes have a selection of 5 colors to choose from: Red, Pink, White, Marble (White and Pink combined), and Jingle Bell (Red with white speckles).

Place your order today for your holiday poinsettias! Perfect for your home, church, office, and gifts for family and friends. Ask your coworkers, family and friends! These plants are beautiful and not hard to sell, but here are a few tips:

  • Small churches that don’t have a floral budget may purchase these poinsettias because they are more affordable than other vendors.
  • Business owners may purchase these for their office.
  • Some employers buy them for employee holiday gifts.

This fundraiser has a short turnaround. Orders are due by November 8th. Please place order forms and payment in a sealed envelope and drop it the band room safe. Orders will be placed with the nursery on November 10th so no late orders can be accommodated.

The order form is linked below and is also available on the Fundraiser page of the website and on the band app.

The goal is to have the plants delivered in time to distribute at our Winter Concert on November 30th.

This is a 50/50 Fundraiser, which means 50% of all profit ($3 per plant) will go toward your student band accounts. Remember, fundraiser funds may be used for Indoor dues, Jazz Band dues, and funds do roll over to the following Marching Band Year (except Seniors).

THANK YOU for your support of the band!

Fall Concert Information

Tuesday, October 17 the North Paulding Band Program will present its first concert of the year! As noted in the syllabus, each ensemble is a performance based class that utilizes public performances as part of the learning process. All rehearsals and performances are equated into the nine-week grade for each semester. We are super excited with the progress that the students have made so far this semester and look forward to celebrating with a great night of music. The show starts at 7:00 pm.

Please review this document which details attendance and arrival times.

October Booster Meeting

Please join us at the Booster meeting this Tuesday at 7pm. Mark Drury from Super Holiday Tours will be at this meeting to go over the itinerary and details, and answer any questions. Every student who is going on the trip should be in attendance with a parent.

In addition to hearing from Mark Drury about all final details of the trip, we will also review and vote on at least a portion of the proposed budget changes (see below).

Budget Amendment Proposal

At the September Booster meeting, the Board proposed a budget amendment that creates a 2023-2024 budget for the indoor programs (Winter Guard and Indoor Drumline). We are planning to vote on this portion of the budget amendment at the October Booster meeting.

The Board also proposed a budget alignment for the general fund budget based on actual expenses, along with many sections being broken into subsections for transparency. After much discussion, the Board Treasurer plans to present an updated version to the membership on Tuesday. We will plan a vote on this at the November booster meeting if the membership is in agreement.

If you have any questions/concerns after reviewing the documents presented, please send an email to our Treasurer, David Futch, at npbbtreasurer1@gmail.com.

Paulding Meadows Performance Details
PERFORMANCE IS THIS SATURDAY 9/9!

This Saturday, September 9th is Paulding Meadows Festival. The students will perform at 10:30 AM. Attendance will be taken at 9:30 AM. See timeline below.

Sousaphones, Color Guard, and Percussion sections – you must be at NPHS at 8:30 AM to help load your equipment on to the trailers.

Students will need to provide their own transportation. We highly recommend carpooling. Parents will drop students off and then must move their car to a parking spot.  Please remember to arrive early as all 5 high schools will be performing so traffic will be heavy this morning.  Students get into the festival as performers, but any parents that want to watch the performance will need a ticket. Paulding Meadows Arts and Crafts Festival Booth

Thank you to all of the volunteers that have signed up to help us sell Funnel Cakes and other fried goodies this weekend at the Paulding Meadows Arts and Crafts Festival. There are still some spots available – join us!

Please make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to the festival for your time slot. Traffic during the festival is terrible. It can take an hour just to get through the traffic and park. Please plan accordingly, especially for volunteers that are coming in the afternoon.

For health code reasons, all volunteers must wear a hat (not a visor) or hair net while working in the booth. Beards must be covered by a hair net also.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Nicolle Dunn at jd19@aol.com.
